Welcome to Room 421!

Welcome to the fabulous fifth grade! My name is Melanie Klakamp. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my fourth year at Jackson Elementary. I previously taught both 4th and 5th grades in Columbus. I love being a part of the Jackson Family!

I have three sons. Conner will be a junior at SHS, and Cameron is in the 8th grade this year. Our son, Curry, is 18 months old. It's been such a joy to have a baby in the family! My husband of 20 years, Jeff, is teaching 5th grade at Brown Elementary. My husband is a football coach at the middle school, and both Conner and Cameron play football. Curry and I will be quite busy watching lots of games this season!

I am looking forward to getting to know your child! I strive to make my classroom a safe, fun learning environment for my students. Parent communication is very important to your child's success as well. Please feel free to contact me via phone call or email anytime.

It is my goal to update my page with homework and announcements on a regular basis. Please check your child's agenda each night for homework assignments. I will also send home a weekly newsletter every Monday.
