Welcome to Jackson Preschool! I am so excited to begin another school year. I will update our weekly agenda on Mondays and send a copy home with students on Tuesdays so you will know what is planned for the week. Be sure to note any special announcements to stay informed.

Welcome, Kaelie! She joined our PM class last week.
For the next two weeks we will learn about Indian Corn, pumpkin carving, caterpillars to monarch butterflies and leaves changing colors.
We will begin our Book-It Program on October 2. It will continue through March 29. We set a classroom goal to read 20 books in October. When we reach our goal at the end of the month, each student will receive a coupon for a free personal pan pizza!
Parent Teacher Conferences will be Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16 from 4-7:30. If you interested in meeting, please send me a time that will work well for you.
Tuesday, October 16 the Marching Owls Band will perform at 1:50.
Fall Break is Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19. There is no school on those two days.

Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days-October 29-Nov. 2
The National Red Ribbon Week Celebration is October 29th-November 2nd, 2018. The goal of Red Ribbon Week is to come together to keep children, families, and communities safe, healthy and DRUG FREE! At Jackson Elementary we want to make a stand against substance abuse and show our school’s commitment to maintain a DRUG FREE lifestyle. During Red Ribbon Week, ALL students at Jackson Elementary will be encouraged to dress up for our theme days.
Tuesday- Don’t Let Drugs Mix You Up! Wear Mismatched/Crazy Clothing.
Wednesday-Say Boo to Drugs! Wear orange/black.
Thursday-Hats off to Being Drug Free. Wear crazy hat or hair!
Friday- Anything is PAWS-IBLE when you’re drug free! Jackson Spirit Day. Blue from ears to paws!
Looking ahead: Jackson Elementary's Fall Carnival will be Friday, November 9 from 5-6:30 PM. More information coming soon.
Reminder-If your child is absent, please call the school office to report the absence at 812-522-5709. If they ride the bus, please call the bus garage 812-522-8579 or text the driver to cancel the trip. This saves them time and gas.
We do have show and tell each Friday. Please send a toy, book, game, etc. so your child may participate.
